Welcome to Mini Movers Dance with Stacey

Mini Movers is a fantastically fun dancing and singing based movement to music class for babies, toddlers and young children to enjoy together with their parents and carers.

Using a wide range of bright and colourful props, together with both new and familiar nursery rhymes and songs, children are encouraged to find and develop their confidence, creativity, imagination and a lifelong love of all things musical.

Classes are for pre-school children from birth to five years, although let’s face it, given a bowler hat or a chiffon scarf, are you ever really too old for all things musical??

Classes are run by Stacey, a Qualified dance teacher. She’s a mum of two, and has a BA (Hons) Degree in Childhood Studies: Early Years, plus has many years of experience working with children and families, so you really are in great hands.

Your local classes take place in Goring-by-Sea, Worthing covering Ferring, Angmering, Littlehampton, Durrington, Tarring, West Worthing, Salvington, Offington, East Worthing, Sompting, Lancing and surrounding areas.

What age is Mini Movers Dance for?

Classes are aimed towards pre-school children from birth up to 5yrs and sessions are run with mixed ages.

The earlier we introduce children to the dancing bug, the more coordinated and flexible they will be and the more likely they are to continue to enjoy an active lifestyle for many years to come. Creating a specific time and activity for adult and child interaction can also strengthen the bonding process from an early age.

All children from 0-5yrs (and beyond!) benefit from Mini Movers in different ways:

  • building confidence in themselves and their environment,
  • helping develop speech, imagination, memory and social skills,
  • improving balance, co-ordination, movement and rhythm,
  • encouraging interaction with other children,
  • and providing positive associations with exercise from an early age.
  • And most importantly for the children – it’s fun!

Why are classes in mixed ages?

There are so many benefits to mixing the ages within the sessions.

Younger children rely on their adult to encourage the physical movements as they begin to enjoy, move and respond to the different musical sounds, surrounded by stimulating colours and textures, and observing and learning from the older ones.

Older children in the group while developing their confidence and independence, and learning through repetition and experiment will increasingly create the movements themselves alongside (and encouraged by) their adult, being excellent role models for the younger ones.

Siblings are able to attend and share their experiences together, creating stronger sibling bonds, and friends with children of different ages often book the same session to enjoy some quality social time.
